Don Baarns, CEO and President of the Baarns Consulting Group, is a well-known leader in the Office development community and a seasoned consultant, speaker, and author.

Today Don leads a highly experienced team of consultants with world class experience and expertise. He continues as an intellectual leader in corporate development. He is a primary author of the Microsoft Excel 97 SDK (Microsoft Press), writes for Advisor/Office/Visual Basic and Visual Basic Programmers Journal, and is often a featured speaker at Microsoft Tech Ed, VBITS, and Advisor Conferences.

Don continues to guide the business and focuses on custom development for large companies. The Walt Disney Company, Chevron, MCA (Universal Pictures) and Octel Communications, Sony, Pitney Bowes, and ARAMARK are among the company's many clients.

He is currently President of the Association of Internet Professionals – Los Angeles chapter.

Don studied computing at Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan) with emphasis on Basic, FORTRAN, PL1, and computer programming theory.
