Natural Language Grammar Checker
Word 97 has a new natural language grammar checker that has
been developed based on advanced linguistic research. The result
is that Word 97 flags mistakes accurately, gives you in-place,
effective suggestions and reduces your proofing time:
- Better syntactic analysis - We have done extensive
usability testing on which types of errors users want
flagged and which they prefer the grammar checker to
ignore. As a result, we have established defaults that
flag important errors and ignore trivial errors, reducing
the verification burden on the user.
- Rewrites for erroneous sentences - Word gives you
full sentence rewrites in the context menu and in the
dialog, making it easy to review the end result of the
suggested change.
- User-friendly grammar styles - Grammar styles are
now based on templates which means Word uses the
appropriate grammar style for different types of
documents. For example, if you are writing a formal
letter, Word automatically uses the Business Letter
grammar style, if you are writing a technical
specification, Word uses the Technical Writing grammar
style.
Word uses grammar rules appropriate for
the type of document you are writing
