Page Borders

Word now allows you to put a border around each page. In addition to the 150 new border line styles, Word 97 provides users with Publisher’s fun Border Art for page borders which includes over 160 art styles. Page borders are also highly customizable:

• Unique border style for each page edge - More than just a simple box around the entire page, you can easily choose a different art or line style for each page edge by selecting a style and then clicking on the corresponding border button in the Preview area.

• Include Headers and Footers - You also have an option to include headers and footers within the border - you can choose either or both to be included or excluded in the border area.
• Border positioning - To give you flexibility over the positioning of the border on your page, Word also provides an Offset control where you can choose offsets for the borders. The offsets can be relative to the edge of the page, as with decorative paper or relative to text, to give a bordered text look.
• Different First page -You can specify a different border style for your first page, especially useful in newsletters and cards where you want the cover page to have a distinct look relative to the rest of the pages.
• Border Palette - Like Microsoft Excel, Word has a drop down palette on the Formatting toolbar that gives you instant access to multiple border options. And, as in Excel, you can tear off the palette and create a floating borders palette.
