And, if you create newsletters or greeting cards, Word 97 gives you all the functionality and flexibility to create professionally laid out documents.

Office Art

Office Art is a new drawing layer that’s shared by all Office applications. This is rich, sophisticated drawing layer that replaces the Word drawing layer. Linked Textboxes

Word now provides the ability to link several textboxes for discontinuous story flow across pages. Newsletters and magazines often contain articles that span multiple pages. This feature lets you accomplish this powerful publishing activity using a very simple interface. To create a link between two textboxes, you select the text box you’re linking from and choose Create Link from the text box toolbar. This changes your mouse pointer to an upright pitcher. When you move your mouse over another text box, the mouse pointer turns into a pouring pitcher to let you know that you are on a valid destination. You simply click on the text box and your link is made. Once two textboxes are linked, text that overflows from the first text box will appear at the top of the second one. Any number of textboxes can be linked in any direction.
