If you dont have the expertise to create a web page from scratch, Word provides you with a great framework to get you up and running. We provide customized templates that you can easily modify to meet your needs. Word lets you choose from a variety of content templates that address the common types of web pages, such as a sample personal home page, a sample corporate page and sample forms based pages such as merchandising pages. Word also gives you a choice of predefined visual themes for these pages - varying specific visual elements like background colors, bullets, horizontal lines and other elements. Word provides content and design help so that anyone can successfully create a visually compelling page that effectively communications the information they want to share.
Word provides a consistent approach to forms design across document types, i.e., HTML or non-HTML. All the interface elements are identical, except where they get extended for HTML tag specific controls. Following this consistent model, users will get single click insertion of commonly inserted forms controls in a WYSIWYG Web authoring environment. The following controls will be available:
Word 97 provides WYSIWYG support for authoring Web pages with commonly used tags such as tables, fonts, blinking text, and background sound. There are over eighty HTML tags supported in Word. The supported tag set is updated on an ongoing basis and Word automatically prompts you to download support for new tags using the Auto Update Web Tools feature described below.
